Participant Emails
Participants who are invited to join or who signed up for an Ethelo decision will receive emails from the decision. The decision admin can customize the registration emails sent to their participants. Navigate to Participation >Emails to start this process.
There are three sections to fill in when customizing emails: Shared Settings, User Invited, and User Joined.
Shared Settings
If you would like to use your own email address to send participants their automated invitation emails, then simply enter your personal email address in the ‘Reply to Address for automated Emails’ textbox, as well as your name on the ‘Sender Name for automated Emails’ textbox, and click the ‘Save’ button to save the changes made.
If you chose to leave this section blank, it would use the default email address and name.
User Invited Email
Decision Admin can modify the contents of the invitation email their participant will receive to finalize their registration. This is called a User Invited Email.
Leave the ‘Use Default’ radio button selected to use the default Ethelo messaging in your email OR select the ‘Use Custom’ radio button to write a custom text.
User Joined Email
If you have chosen to share your decision's web address publicly then participants may sign-up themselves. After entering their name and email address and completing the sign-up process on the decision, they will receive a ‘User Joined Email’ with a temporary password should they decide to return to the decision at a later date.
The default text in this email will be slightly different than a User Invited Email, but you may still choose to customize your email. Select the ‘Use Custom’ radio button and enter your custom text for your email ‘Subject’ and ‘Body (or HTML)’.
Click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the page to save your progress.
***Note that you can use the placeholder "%{decision_title}" in your messaging and it will be replaced with the name of your Ethelo decision when emails are sent.***
