In order to create a Topic Slider and display it on a Topic Slider Voting Page, you must configure the settings in the Advanced Scoring Mode located in the Option Topics panel.
To access Option Topics, go to Voting >Option Topics in the Admin Panel.
In this Panel there will be settings both for regular Topics and Topic Sliders; to create a Topic Slider you must access the Advanced Scoring folder, where you will discover 2 possible modes.
Default scoring mode:
This particular setting should be left in default mode if you want to create a Topic for a Topic Voting Page and not a Topic Slider Page
Advanced scoring mode:
The advanced scoring mode is there specifically to create Topic Sliders and comes in two versions:
- Rectangle: Once the Topic Slider is created and this mode is selected; the options participants vote for on the slider will be rated as 100% support, all other options will be rated 0% support.
- Triangle: Once the Topic Slider is created and this mode is selected; the option participants vote for on the slider will be rated highest, while all other options will be rated based on how close they are to the participant's choice.
- Number of Options with Support when using Triangle Calculation: The maximum number of other options that will be rated based on how close they are to the participant's choice can be customized in this section.
- Calculate Advanced Scoring based on which detail: Here you can select which Option Attribute (or characteristic) you would like to use as the basis to calculate your advanced scoring.
- Advanced Voting Style: This setting allows you to chose whether you would like to have a single option as a starting point on your voting slider or a range of options.
