Crafting Scenario Attributes: Your Easy Guide

Let's continue our journey into the world of Scenario Attributes on the Ethelo platform. This time, we're diving into how you can manage them effortlessly.

Accessing the Scenario Attribute Table

To get started, head over to Scenarios > Scenario Attributes. This is your dashboard for all things Scenario Attributes.

Creating Your Very Own Scenario Attribute

Now, let's get creative! To whip up a Scenario Attribute, hit that "Create" button up there in the top right corner and you've just opened the door to a world of possibilities.

Configuring Your Scenario Attribute

Here's where the magic happens. You can configure your Scenario Attribute exactly how you want it. Here are the settings you can tinker with:

Title:* This is like the star of the show, the headline for your Scenario Attribute. Keep it short and snappy, around 3-8 words.

Personal Title: Sometimes, you want to give your Scenario Attribute a different name when it's being displayed on the Personal results panel. This is where you can make that magic happen.

Type: Think of this as the personality of your Scenario Attribute. It helps determine what kind of data it'll store. There are 8 types to choose from:

  • Text
  • Numbers
  • Number with Decimal (X.XX)
  • Dollars ($X)
  • Dollars with Cents ($X.XX)
  • Percent (X%)
  • Percent with Decimal (X.XX%)
  • Yes/No

Display: If you want your Scenario Attribute to be visible to the participants, just check this box. It can hang out above or below the Results panel, ensuring everyone gets a good look.

Display Order: If you're the organized type and want your Scenario Attributes to follow a specific order, you can do that too. Just pop a number into the "Display Order" column. Lower numbers go first, and higher ones follow in line.

Watch the video below for a short walkthrough of the Order Display feature. Note, that only the first half of the video refers to Option Attributes, the other half is for Scenario Attributes.

Expression: This nifty feature lets you build a Scenario Attribute by combining predefined Scenario Attributes. It's like crafting your own unique blend. The predefined Scenario Attributes are based on the Option Attributes, allowing you to work some mathematical magic. Here are some examples of redefined Scenario Attributes:

  • "Attribute Name" total_optionattributename: = the total sum of this attribute across all options in the Decision
  • "Attribute Name" avg_optionattributenameall: = the average value of this attribute across all options in the Decision
  • "Attribute Name

So there you have it, managing Scenario Attributes on the Ethelo platform is a breeze! It's like giving your decision-making process a personalized touch, making it even more awesome. Enjoy configuring your Scenario Attributes!
