Options can have descriptions, which in addition to the title and attributes, helps define the option.
Descriptions are very flexible; anything that can be fit into an HTML panel of single column width can be a description. Descriptions can include:
- Text
- Images
- Videos
- Pop-ups and drop-down panels
- Links to more information
You can configure the following settings for each option:
- Title*: The title will appear wherever the option is referenced. It should be short; it is a headline rather than a summary. 3-8 words.
- Results Title: This field is optional but if filled in, this title will be used on the Results Page and the above title will show on the Personal Results Panel.
- Identifier: This code is used to reference the option for system purposes. By default, it is simply the title without a space.
- Description: This is a fully editable block of HTML code. It should be viewable
- Topic: Topics are how options are organized for display and rules. An option with no group is "uncategorized". An option can belong to only one Topic.
- Display Order: If you would like the Options to be displayed in a particular order, then enter a number value in the "Display Order" column. Input the lowest number for the Option you would like to be displayed first and increasingly higher values for Options you would like to sequentially display next.
- Include: This should be selected if the option should appear in the results. If Include is not selected, the option will be ignored.
- Delete: This should be selected if the option is to be deleted. Note that "publish" must be triggered for the deletion to take affect.
- Attributes: All Attributes will be listed here; there should be a non-empty cell for attributes possessed by the Option.
Description Design
The layout of a Description should be done with a smartphone in mind. A Description will be full-width on a smartphone or in the central column in laptop view.
- If there is an image, it should be either full width, or in 40% to 50% range.
- Text should be limited to 2-4 lines.
- If more content needs to be provided, it should be presented as an optional drop-down.
Copy the text elsewhere before pasting in order to use the project style sheet. New styles can be set up in the CSS Configuration.
