Option Groups : Managing them

Follow

Option Groups are managed from the Option Group Table, which can be found at

Voting >Option Groups

You can create an Option Group by clicking Create to open a blank Option Group, which provides access to all the configuration settings for the option.

You can configure the following settings for each Option Group:

  • Title: The title will appear where ever the option group is referenced. It should be short; it is a headline rather than a summary. 3-8 words.
  • Match Mode: Use "Equals Detail Value" to define an Option Group.
  • Attribute Value: This is the value of an attribute that will be used to identify options that belong to the Option Group.
  • Option Attribute: This is the name of the attribute in which the Detail Value will be assigned. If not, the Option Group will not be created.
  • Delete: You can delete Option Groups directly from the Option Group Table

For Example, if we wanted to create an Option Group containing all the Options that starts with the letter "S", we would:

  • Create an Option Attribute called "S-Attribute" with the Attribute Type set to yes/no
  • In the Option Table, selection "yes" in the Attribute column "S-start" for those Options that begin with the letter "S" and "no" for those Options that do not.
  • Create an Option Group, called "S-Group", with the Attribute set to "S-Attribute and the Attribute Value set to "yes"
